Clan Fraser Society of Canada publishes a regular quarterly newsletter for
members, entitled "Canadian Explorer". Based on member feedback,
the greatest areas of interest continue to be Fraser history and
genealogy. Although it is not possible for CFSC to undertake genealogical
research, we try to assist members with their family research and are pleased to
check their family tree information against a database of the 81 known branches
descended from the earliest recorded Fraser family in Scotland. We
regularly feature stories and genealogical charts of Fraser families in
Scotland, as well as some of the early Fraser families who settled in Canada and
elsewhere.
A selection of articles by Marie Fraser, previously published in the
Clan Fraser Society of Canada quarterly newsletter, can be found on this web
site or at http://www.electricscotland.com/canada/fraser/index.htm
 | Clan Fraser: A History |
Written by Flora Marjory Fraser, 20th [now 21st] Lady Saltoun, this book was
published by Scottish Cultural Press and launched during the 1997 Clan Fraser Gathering
held at Castle Fraser. It was such a success, selling out twice, that extra copies
had to be brought in by car from Edinburgh to meet the demand. The book is easy to
read and liberally illustrated with photographs and genealogical charts of the principal
lines and collateral branches descended from Udard Fraser, in East Lothian circa 1200.

In the Introduction, Lady Saltoun comments:
"So many people over the years have asked so many questions
about the history of the family and clan, that I thought it was time to write a booklet
which would answer at least some of those questions, and that is what this is intended to
do. It is not intended to be a comprehensive history of the family. To write
such a book would take years of patient research, and, alas! I do not have time for that,
interesting as it would be, and much as I should love to do it..."
The book was reprinted in paperback in 2005. Copies @ $22.00 (prices include postage, packing and taxes) are available from Clan Fraser Society of Canada, 71 Charles St. East,
#1101, Toronto, ON M4Y 2T3. Tel: (416) 920-6851 E-mail: enquiry@clanfraser.ca
